Australia (Interstate) Travel Restrictions

The University’s Interstate Travel Protocols must be considered by Authorised Approvers prior to approving request in TOP.

Western Australia has transitioned to a safe and sensible controlled interstate border for now, based on the latest public health advice.

For information on WA's controlled interstate border arrangements, as they evolve, please visit the following WA Govt website: https://www.wa.gov.au/organisation/covid-communications/covid-19-coronavirus-controlled-interstate-border

G2G Passes

Please see the below websites for details on the G2G Pass System and FAQ's:

https://www.wa.gov.au/government/publications/g2g-pass-travel-exemptions-frequently-asked-questions

To check if you need to self-quarantine when arriving from another State and/or for information on the G2G Now system see: https://www.wa.gov.au/organisation/department-of-the-premier-and-cabinet/covid-19-coronavirus-travel-and-quarantine

If an exemption is still required, please note that documentation from Curtin may support your application, per below:

a) Letter confirming employment and reasons for returning to WA or Copy of Enrolment Confirmation.
b) Flight date (approximate) and if proposing to book tickets must allow 5 – 6 working days for the approval process.
c) Letter of support in line with exemption. Note the Letter can be adapted for Student travel purposes also where required.

Remember to ensure that your travel dates and details are entered into the TOP System so that Curtin are able to track this.

States and territories can apply their own restrictions, including closing their state borders and additional quarantine requirements. Find out more about restrictions in your state or territory on the Australian Govt Department of Health website here:
